Our Home Base: The Nile Island of Zamalek
We will stay in the charming district of Zamalek – a green oasis in the middle of the megacity. Shady trees, small boutiques, cozy cafés, and a unique atmosphere invite you to explore and linger. Outside of the scheduled program, you will have plenty of time to discover the island on your own.
Music & Relaxation at the Swiss Club Cairo
Most of the Darbuka lessons take place in the idyllic garden of the Swiss Club – a place of peace and inspiration right in the heart of lively Cairo.
Culinary Journeys
Beyond the musical sessions, we will also indulge in the local flavors: together, we’ll discover some of the city’s best and most atmospheric restaurants.

A Journey to Remember
Our trip to Cairo was an unforgettable experience that enriched us with deep cultural insights and musical discoveries. On behalf of Darbuka-Art, Sherif & Omda – two exceptionally talented Egyptian musicians – organized this unique week of culture and music in Egypt.
We immersed ourselves in the country’s fascinating history, experienced the lively hustle and bustle of Cairo’s streets, and enjoyed daily Darbuka lessons under the Egyptian sun.
Whether strolling through the Khan el-Khalili bazaar or playing the Darbuka while sailing on the Nile, we were completely captivated by the magical "Cairo vibes."
The delicious local cuisine and the warm hospitality of the people only added to the magic, making every moment truly memorable.
This journey was a beautiful fusion of music, culture, and lasting memories. We are already looking forward to our next adventure in the historic city of Cairo!
